Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Counselling which includes a 3 year role (initially) as Programme Director of Counselling Studies. Besides involvement in teaching and research the person appointed will have a role in providing the leadership and strategic direction necessary to ensure and enhance the quality of our counselling programmes and to oversee the day-to-day management of the related academic operations. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and thriving School of Psychology which has expanded significantly in recent years and has ambitious plans for further growth. There are two successful BACP accredited counsellor training programmes which are offered on both a full-time and part-time basis.
The successful candidate will possess doctoral qualifications in Counselling/Counselling Psychology (or close to completion) and will have experience in teaching Counselling at university level. We are looking to appoint an academic leader with the skills, enthusiasm and drive to take our programmes in Counselling forward. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver high quality counselling education and training at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including CPD programmes, and contribute to the School’s emerging research and enterprise agendas.
