Accounts Payable Clerk





I am currently recruiting an Accounts Payable Clerk to work for for the UK’s largest train service provider. This is going to be a temporary position based in the City of London.

Client Details


My client is the UK’s largest train service provider who have recently created a franchise with a French transportation company. As a result they are looking to take on a temporary Accounts Payable Clerk to assist with the workload.


This role will be based in their rand new offices in the City of London.

Roles and Duties


Prior experience


  • Must have experience of Accounts Payable using a three-way match process, in a large or medium-sized company

  • Prior experience of Oracle is preferred

  • Matching, batching and coding invoices

  • Processing high volumes of invoices – up to 200 a week

  • Petty cash

  • Staff expenses

  • Supplier statement reconciliations

  • Supplier queries

  • Prior experience of Accounts Receivable and credit control is preferred. At least one of the candidates must have significant experience in this area.

Must be able to demonstrate:


  • The ability to work well within a team

  • The ability to work on own initiative, and to improve processes in area of responsibility

  • The ability to communicate effectively verbally, by telephone and in writing, as the role requires a lot of communication with internal stakeholders, customers and suppliers.

  • A flexible attitude, as work will be rotated within the team, and processes revised, in order to obtain maximum efficiency

  • An eye for detail and an emphasis on accuracy, including a good standard of numeracy

  • An eagerness to work in a challenging environment, where there is an emphasis on improving efficiency and effectiveness.

Profile


Knowledge


  • Working knowledge of purchase and sales ledger modules (Oracle)

  • Good understanding of Accounts Payable & Receivable processes

Skills


  • Good standard of numeracy & literacy

  • Good attention to detail

  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel

  • Good interpersonal skills and effective communicator

Experience


  • Experience of transactions processing in accordance with defined procedures

  • Experience of providing effective customer service to both internal and external stakeholders

  • Experience of rail or similar transport industry

Job Offer


The successful candidate will be paid between £12-15 per hour depending on experience
