Assistant Online Manager (CRM and Email)- Sma,

in London, Full Time (37.5 hours)


We are looking for an Assistant Online Manager to join Smashbox online team. You will work closely with multiple departments across the brand and the business. The role will encompass a broad range of online channels including managing and overseeing PPC, Emails, SEO, Affiliates, site content and managing key retailer relationships.

Responsibilities include;

Oversee site updates including monthly refreshes, working with developers/designers to deliver to agreed deadlines

Oversee new product launches on site

On-going testing of web pages, links and functionalities of the site and suggesting optimisations

Work with global, marketing, PR to develop new, UK focussed content for the site on a regular basis

Monitoring site performance using Google Analytics as well as individual product performance and sharing actionable insights with online manager and global ecomm team

Creation and on-going maintenance of ecomm calendar including site activity plan by week

Email programme

Create and implement a CRM marketing and loyalty programme and associated tools/platforms to meet business objectives

Understanding of email/CRM analytics and be able to make recommendations to constantly improve channel performance

Have experience in omni channel marketing

Implementing the email strategy; planning campaigns, targeting, set up, testing, execution, reporting and optimisation.

Understanding segmentation and profiling to create targeted campaigns whilst always monitoring results and adapting plans as required to drive brand engagement, loyalty and revenue.

Analyse and understand the behaviour of high value customers and implement programmes to further drive loyalty

Championing continuous advancement of our email campaigns and capabilities; focusing on targeting, personalisation, content, template development in collaboration with key stakeholders e.g. global, marketing, PR to deliver an elevated, premium brand experience.


Understanding of email/CRM analytics and be able to make recommendations to constantly improve channel performance

Paid search

Day to day management of the relationship with our paid search agency, ensuring all ad copies are updated, spend and performance are reviewed on an on-going basis to deliver maximum ROI.

Keep abreast of the latest google products and innovations and how they may be utilised for smashbox


Retailer strategy – devising and implementing a strategy for Smashbox retail partners that plays to the retailers strengths and maximises exposure and sales opportunity. Conduct regular site audits to manage Smashbox brand representation, provide assets and implement agreed activity

Affiliates strategy – Work closely with relevant agencies and networks to deliver the affiliates strategy. Identify top performers and develop partnerships and collaborations to increase sales.

Sample strategy – manage and monitor the usage of samples across own site, retailer site and third party opportunities. Suggest ideas to offer innovative sampling online.

Reporting – sharing campaign success and learnings with the brand team on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.

Management – You will also be responsible for developing the Online Assistant and ensure all campaigns are executed with excellence


You must have a strong ecommerce and/or a digital marketing background, be able to demonstrate analytical skills, show ownership for devising and delivering ecommerce strategy, have great communication skills, and show excellent attention to detail.
