The primary role for the appointee will be to lead the research and evaluation arm of the project. This will involve project design, identification of existing data sources on patient outcomes, identification or development of appropriate additional measurement tools. The principles of improvement science will guide the researching the implementation process, and factors for success.


The successful applicant will work with a dedicated project team and actively participate in the implementation of the intervention, which will likely include travel around New Zealand. There will be specific responsibility for the quality improvement component as the intervention is rolled out across hospitals in New Zealand.


The project includes funding for a PhD student, and the successful applicant will potentially have a role in PhD supervision.


The role is a 1.0 FTE for 2.5 years in the first instance. Funding for a full 5 years is anticipated but cannot be guaranteed at this stage.
