Research Fellow

Help us to make a difference to the lives of children, young people and families.

The study of Social Sciences at Nottingham Trent University is more than an academic pursuit. By working through our staff, students, graduates and external partners and beyond the confines of the university, we actively seek to make a positive and lasting difference to the communities we are part of. Our team is committed to shaping knowledge, policy and practice through highly rated courses and an outstanding reputation for theoretically informed, applied research.

We’re drawing together the expertise of our colleagues spanning sociology, psychology, education, politics and social work to build a ground breaking centre that will produce high quality, impactful research in partnership with a range of external partners.

Working together, we believe that we can make a difference to the lives of children, young people and families living in Nottingham – and beyond. And we want you to be part of it.

We’re appointing a Research Fellow to help us build the new Centre. You’ll be part of a cross-disciplinary team charged with generating new research, producing high quality publications and finding new and innovative ways to make an impact on policy and practice. You’ll work with academics and with a number of external stakeholders (including children and young people).

With a PhD (or equivalent) in a social sciences discipline and an emerging profile in research with children, young people and/or families, you’ll benefit from joining a thriving academic community with unrivalled opportunities for your career development.
