My client are a specialist IT Recruitment Company focusing on the global financial marketplace. They have a highly successful track record of delivering at all levels – from CIOs to Analyst Programmers. With two teams focusing on both permanent and contract recruitment using an approach that is a mix of cold research, referrals and headhunting – irrespective of the level of the role.


Providing a full vertical recruitment solution to their clients – from CIO’s and Senior Programme Managers through to analyst programmers, business analysts and PMO leads. Our core clients are Investment Banks, Fund / Asset Managers, Private Banks, Software Companies and Consultancies and recently they have successfully branched out to work with Central Government.


As part of their continued growth we are looking for trainee recruitment consultants to join thier successful team. From the very beginning of your career as a Trainee Recruitment Consultant you will be given the opportunity to interact with mid-senior level professionals. You will bring on your own new business as well as helping your manager to manage existing accounts.


The role of a trainee recruitment consultant is challenging and exciting, to be successful requires hard work, focus, tenacity and a genuine interest in building and developing relationships; success rewards with quick career progression and high earning potential.


As a trainee recruitment consultant your main responsibilities will include:


  • Candidate Generation from a wide variety of sources (including internal and external databases, referral gathering and networking, professional groups and advertising)

  • Headhunting candidates for specific requirements.

  • Candidate interviewing and screening (telephone and face to face) to ensure most relevant candidates are submitted to the client

  • To give potential candidates a good understanding of the role, area and company

  • Use of sales skills and market/ company / role information to gain candidate’s interest in the role and organization and to overcome (if reasonable) any concerns.

  • To begin to work closely and interactively with the client throughout their recruitment process and beyond.

  • Candidate management throughout the interview and offer process.

  • Ensure company database is updated daily and other administrative tasks

  • We are a tight knit team and as well as the above there will always be other ad-hoc tasks for colleagues or the company as a whole

Our ideal trainee recruitment consultants will have:


  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrable sales and/or influencing skills

  • Strong track record of achievement, they will be commercially minded, results -orientated and driven by success.

  • The ability to multi-task and self-start, must be pro-active and hard-working.

  • Accomplished educational background (ideally graduate level)

  • Thorough approach with good attention to detail, the ability to plan, structure and prioritise day and work effectively

  • Ability to cope with pressure and adversity

  • Strong IT skills including MS Office
