Gallery Assistant Internship - Subject Matter - London WC2R

Seeking Gallery Assistant Internship:

Subject Matter is looking for an enthusiastic, proactive candidate. You must be a team player with a confident and positive attitude, able to adapt to different tasks and be resourceful when problem solving. Excellent organisations skills are paramount as well as being great at communication and customer service.

Duties:
– Supporting the team with general gallery duties
– Content development on the blog
– mail outs
– exhibitions
– Working closely with individual artists, developing relationships with new artists, and extending relationships with established artists, assisting with the general running of the gallery, making sure it is presented to the highest standard at all times
– Assisting with research and general administration
– Support in Sales

Skills:
– A passion for contemporary art
– Strong relationship building and teamwork skills
– The desire and ability to actively represent and promote the Subject Matter brand to the widest possible audience.
– Ability to work independent with a strong sense of initiative.
– Presentability

Work Environment: We have a fun and interesting work environment and opportunities to learn and grow for dedicated interns. This position will afford you hands on experience in all aspects of managing a gallery. The internship is geared towards students and graduates interested in gaining first hand gallery experience. This role will suit someone with strong communications skills and who is interested in working flexibly to experience and make an active contribution to the range of roles and responsibilities.

Please note:
– This is part time unpaid (expenses only paid) position
– 3 days a week , including Thursdays working with the team in London
