Licensing Assistant - Penguin Books - London





Stories have always been at the heart of our business and for many years these stories and characters lived mainly in books, but nowadays they’re providing the magic and wonder for all kinds of different consumer experiences.

Penguin Ventures has been created to explore this brave new world beyond the book bringing together our Licensing, Consumer Products, TV Production and Live strategies to find brilliant new ways to tell the world’s favourite stories and we’re looking for a proactive, super-organised and friendly assistant to join us on our journey.


Your primary role will be to provide full administrative support to the team who manage some of Penguin’s most prestigious Children’s brands including Peter Rabbit, The Snowman and The Snowman and The Snowdog, Vintage Ladybird, Spot and Flower Fairies.


In addition to providing admin support to the team, your day to day will look something like this:


  • Dealing with licensing queries and liaising confidently with production companies, broadcasters, licensees and international agents

  • Updating and maintaining all licensee lists and status reports

  • Updating and maintaining all deal tracking and contracts reports

  • Organising and planning trade fairs and business trips

  • Diary management and travel planning

  • Creating presentations and keeping sales materials up to date for the team

Your Profile


In you, we need a first rate administrator who’s excellent at building relationships and doesn’t mind visiting people’s desks to get the information they need. You’ll be adaptable, a problem-solver and take pride in offering fantastic customer service.


You certainly don’t need to have worked in publishing before (we don’t do books!) but an interest in licensing and previous administrative experience would be ideal.
