Postdoctoral Research Associate

King

King’s College London – MRC SGDP Centre6

We wish to recruit a skilled and motivated postdoctoral researcher to join a study to investigate the cognition and wellbeing of young adults with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism spectrum disorders (ASD) via both new data collection and secondary analysis in a large-scale longitudinal twin study (the Twins Early Development Study [TEDS]). The study aims to identify electroencephalographic (EEG) measures of executive and social function that provide sensitive and objective markers to understand the overlap between ASD and ADHD and additionally may help to discriminate between the disorders.

The post is funded as part of a New Investigator Research Grant awarded by the Medical Research Council to Dr Gráinne McLoughlin. The successful applicant will lead on data collection and data management. Further, the successful applicant will contribute to dissemination activities and the preparation of reports and publications. The post involves a senior role in recruitment of participants for the project and extensive EEG data collection across the UK so the applicant must be willing to travel as part of the role. She/he will have an interest in the use of cognitive neuroscientific and/or twin analytical approaches to understanding neurodevelopmental disorders. Applicants will possess a PhD in a related field of study, and appropriate specialist knowledge with experience of cognitive data collection. Familiarity with the field of EEG would be useful but is not essential.

The post will be located at the Denmark Hill campus.
