Research Assistant

London School of Economics and Political Science

London School of Economics and Political Science – Department of Social Psychology

This is a fixed term appointment from 9 May 2015 until 15 July 2017

We are seeking an enthusiastic researcher to support a cutting-edge project investigating the indicators of organisational culture that predict success or failure in corporate performance. The project aims to develop an analytical framework through which the culture of an organisation can be measured externally (i.e. without direct involvement by the organisation itself) – for example through existing data on observations of behaviour, client insights, media reports, and informal observations of behaviour. You will be working with Dr Alex Gillespie and Dr Tom Reader at the Department of Social Psychology, and the project is funded by the AKO Foundation (a charitable trust).

Candidates should have a BSc, MSC or equivalent experience in psychology or a related discipline; have demonstrated competence in data management; an interest in organizational culture; excellent communication skills; and the ability to work in a team. You will be based within a successful, dynamic, and growing team of researchers within the LSE’s Department of Social Psychology. This is a unique opportunity for researchers interested in developing new and potentially high-impact research findings within the field of organisational culture, and will involve working closely with partners in the asset management industry.

We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave and excellent training and development opportunities.

Unfortunately this role will not meet the Resident Labour Market Test required by the UKVI in order for the School to be eligible to apply to sponsor candidates who do not currently have the right to work in the UK or who are currently working under Tier 2 of the UKVI Points Based System.

The closing date for receipt of applications is 21 March 2016 (23.59 UK time). Regrettably, we are unable to accept any late applications.

Interview date is anticipated to be 8 April 2015
