Food delivery driver/kitchen assistant (2.9t Van) – Maven Foods Catering Company based in North Acton, London.

Job Title: Food delivery driver (50%)/kitchen assistant (50%) Typical hours: minimum 30-60 hours per week. Mon-Fri (occasional weekend work will also be available) Typical start time 7-8am. You will be flexible to start earlier and work evening shifts also. Rate: £8.00 per hour (plus bonus for punctuality, clean driving and good business performance). A strong candidate can expect to earn £18-20kpa + in year one.
Duties include:
Driving is the main priority of your role.
The typical day will start helping out in the kitchen including:

• Basic food preparation for example making sandwiches and generally helping the chef with basic tasks


• Packaging food ready for delivery


• Loading and unloading of van


• Deliver hot/cold prepared food to Central London offices in our refrigerated van


• Cleaning


• Completing delivery paperwork


• Monitoring and maintaining food and packaging stock levels


• Maintaining high levels of personal hygiene as you will be handling food (You will be provided full training to comply with Food Safety Regulations)


• Ensuring that hygiene and cleanliness within the kitchen is of the highest standard


• Delivery and collection of catering equipment


• Ensuring vehicle is kept clean at all times.

Applicants must:

• Speak good English


• Be well presented and friendly


• Have full clean UK driver’s license and comfortable driving a van


• Be comfortable working alone after the training period


• Have a good knowledge of the City of London roads and surrounding areas


• Be able to meet the physical demands of the role


• Previous kitchen experience is preferred but not essential. Given the role, you must have some interest in food and not minded to work in a busy kitchen. The split of work is approx. 50% driving 50% kitchen assistant with driving being the priority.
