Leading the Way in Online Learning!


Are you a next generation academic passionate about educating others and aspiring to be a thought leader in online learning?


We are seeking to recruit a Lecturers in Health Psychology to join our academic team and deliver on our popular online programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level. An academic with a demonstrated ability to contribute to the design and delivery of a range of modules across the BPS Health Psychology core curriculum would be the desired candidate.


We would particularly welcome applications from candidates whose expertise in health-related cognitions, chronic conditions management, or biological mechanisms of health and disease, though all areas of expertise will be considered. It is hoped that candidates will also be able to deliver at undergraduate level in one or more of the core area/s of Developmental, Social, Cognitive or Biological Psychology. This vacancy results from the continued success of our portfolio and our desire to further expand our psychology provision. Although most of the role will centre on our online provision, there will also be opportunities to do some teaching and research collaboration on campus.


You will combine a passion for teaching and research, with the ability to inspire students and to contribute to curriculum development and enhancement to ensure we continue to build market share for our Health Psychology portfolio. Energy, vision, adaptability to change and a commitment to making a difference for our students will be essential. Applicants should have considerable professional experience and/or have a sound background in academia that is of direct relevance the subject area.  Applicants should have a PhD in Psychology (or equivalent) or be near to completion. Completion of Stage One Health Psychology training is essential as is BPS Chartered Psychologist (CPsychol) status (or eligibility for Chartership). Candidates who have completed Stage Two Health Psychology training and are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council will be particularly welcomed.
