Full time permanent Radiography Helper Band 3


This full time post is 37.5 hours a week from Monday to Friday, there may be occasional ad hoc late sessions.


We are looking for a full time Radiography Helper to join our multidisciplinary team

The post holder will assist radiographers and radiologists in the Dental Radiology clinics on both the Guy’s and St Thomas’ sites. They will also be expected to work with the other radiography helper and receptionists to provide an efficient service to patients and staff.


Key responsibilities include:


• Supporting the Radiographers and Consultant Radiologists on the clinic

• Processing dental radiographic images using computers and digital processors as well as conventional film and chemical based systems when required

• Care and maintenance of the processing equipment

• Copying radiographs in line with information governance guidelines

• Infection control procedures in the clinical areas

• Covering reception in the absence of the receptionist.

• Accurate data input


Applicants should have a good general education up to GCSE standard or equivalent including English Language and Mathematics and possess basic computer and keyboard skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.


The department has recently been refurbished and is fully digital and equipped with a wide range of modern dental imaging modalities including 3D dental cone beam CT, interventional fluoroscopy, sialography and ultrasound. We are part of the Kings College London Dental Institute based at Guy’s & St. Thomas’ Hospitals and provide a comprehensive education and training programme for undergraduate and post graduate dental and radiography students.


You will be expected to participate in the Departmental Quality Assurance programme and audit.
