The department:
To originate and win opportunities, and to deliver projects within Crown Agents’ core consulting sectors using the technical and support resources of the business.
The job:
• To lead the Consultancy Division, ensuring business is profitably won and delivered within the company’s chosen market sectors, and that the business is efficiently and effectively managed.
• Demonstrate leadership as a member of the CA Executive team, participating in corporate decision making and advocating and implementing corporate policies and strategies.
• Encourage and enable and collaborative working and knowledge sharing across the organisation.
Strategy
• Advise the Chief Executive Officer and Crown Agents Board on all Consultancy business matters.
• Provide strategic planning/insight into development and growth of Consultancy business.
• Structure resource and motivate/incentivise consultancy business functions appropriately to facilitate the winning and delivery of work and planned growth of the business.
• Create an enabling environment where consultants and project managers are able to concentrate on winning and delivering business with maximum support from across the organisation.
Leadership & Management
• Build and lead a high performing consultancy management team, providing clear and consistent direction on business goals and priorities.
• Responsibility for the Consultancy P&L.
• Direct/Sponsor and, where appropriate, manage high value/profile projects ensuring compliance with business management and quality systems.
Business Development
• Work with the Director, Partnerships, Growth and Impact to target and bring to book income from key corporate clients, sectors and geographies.
• Build Crown Agents’ Consultancy Brand around a coherent technical offering to focus the selling of consultancy business.
• Build and manage relationships with clients and key stakeholders at the highest level through effective key client/stakeholder management.
• Motivate and encourage innovative approaches/solutions to client needs.
• Leverage networks to maximum benefit for CA and clients.
• Lead contract negotiations on key high value contracts, as appropriate.
• Represent Crown Agents at international level as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
Degree plus Post Graduate business qualification, membership of professional society desirable.
Extensive experience in a senior operational /business management role in an international environment.
