Partnerships, Growth and Impact (PGI) is responsible for Key Partnerships, Pursuits, Bids and Communications.
The role:
The development, implementation and maintenance of a company-wide, best practice methodology for the pursuit, capture and bid development processes to increase CA’s impact.
Strategic
• Provide thought leadership within the Partnership and Bid Development teams and across CA
• Role model continuous improvement, innovation, constructive feedback and knowledge sharing across the business.
• Raise business development standards across the organisation, including leading components of the Design, Silver and Gold Review cycle
• Represent CA to a range of senior stakeholders
• Help shape CA’s response to the evolving development landscape, including assessing skills, capabilities and opportunities
• Advise areas of focus and areas to drop
Tactical
• Build Business Development capacity and capability across the organisation through training and mentoring
• Lead the development, enhancement and use of in-house systems, including identifying and meeting training needs
• Proactively look for new methodologies, presentations, approaches to deliver proposals in different ways
• Provide best practice advice and ensure that maximum value is derived from lessons learned reviews, including client feedback
Operational
• Provide document review, advice and coaching on individual bids
• Ensure Theory of Change is crisp and compelling for each priority Bid
• Provide early, mid and late engagement/challenge to all priority bids through membership of the ‘Star Chamber’
• Lead/support negotiation with clients as required at latter stages of bid process
• Work with non PGI colleagues to make sure the other key proposals have the right support and approach to win
• Support PGI teams throughout the proposal process, holding team members at all levels accountable to agreed deliverables when necessary
• Manage, mentor and deploy a small team
Qualifications and Experience
• Post Graduate Business Development related qualification, or relevant working experience
• Previous consulting and/or client experience at a senior management level
• Experience of building and managing relationships with diverse senior stakeholder groups
• A proven track record in delivering proposal management and bid advice for high value proposals, in a professional services and/or government sector environment
• Experience of drafting and reviewing written communications to deliver specific messages to tight deadlines
