Vice-Chancellor’s Senior Research Fellow or Research Fellow in the Human Aspects of Digital Living


Full time, fixed term (3 years)


Salary: Grade 7 £38,896 – £47,801 per annum; Grade 6 £33,574 – £37,768 per annum

To further strengthen our world-leading research areas we are investing to develop exciting opportunities in multi-disciplinary research.


We are looking for a psychologist or social scientist to support the Digital Living theme, which deals with the intersection of people, technology and place and unites work around digital technologies and social computing, privacy and security and smart cities. You will be based in the Department of Psychology and be interested in applying theories from social, occupational or environmental psychology to the Digital Living theme, working with expert researchers in human-computer interaction, social computing, cybersecurity, inclusive design, e-health, social networking and social media.


You will have the opportunity to demonstrate your extensive knowledge and subject expertise through individual and collaborative academic activity. Successful candidates will be selected according to the excellence of their research profile and plans, and the extent to which their research interests complement the Digital Living theme.


The Fellowship will be for three years in the first instance with the expectation of progression to a permanent academic position at the end of the Fellowship subject to satisfactory progress.
