Robertson Bell Finance is proud to be exclusively partnered with the Scouts Association to recruit a newly designed role of Deputy Head of Finance, which will be based at the head office in Gilwell Park.

The Scout Association provides adventurous activities and personal development opportunities for 400,000 young people aged 6-25. Internationally, there are over 30 million young people enjoying the benefits of Scouting. We believe that young people develop most when they are ‘learning by doing’, when they are given responsibility, work in teams, take acceptable risks and think for themselves.

This exciting opportunity will support and deputise for the Head of Finance in the provision of financial management, statutory reporting and tax (VAT & Corporation Tax) to the Association and its subsidiaries. As a membership organisation and charity supporting the development of young people. The finances are a mixed economy of fundraising, investments, savings and loans, commercial activity (including insurance, retail, conference and hotel businesses), events, adventure activities and the provision of support and advice to the Scouting movement.

The successful candidate will be a professionally qualified accountant with relevant finance experience and confident in business partnering with senior finance and non-finance members. You will have the freedom to analyse the effectiveness of current financial management, reporting, business partnering, planning and budgeting processes, and proactively seek to improve processes and procedures to enhance the operations of the team and facilitate the business decision-making processes.
