The Role:
The role of a Graduate Trainee Recruitment Consultant is both varied and challenging. Resilience and a capability of motivating and driving yourself is key. Typical days will include roles such as networking, sourcing candidates, followed by screening them to provide yourself with the best quality for the position, on top of tasks such as liaising with clients on a face-to-face basis as well as through other means such as telephones or e-mails, on top of selling our and your services to both clients and candidates.
In order to be effective in your role, it would be helpful to have experience in one or more of the following:
- Cold calling
- Business development
- Working in a target driven environment
- Relationship building
- 6 months+ experience in a related sales or recruitment role
Core Skills:
To be a successful Recruitment Consultant you will need to have a competitive nature, drive, a strong sense of self-motivation and excellent communication skills. A career in this field is highly target based and can be highly pressurised when bringing on new business and meeting deadlines, so a level head is required. An ability to multitask, a capability to manage a sometimes complicated workload and discretion are key attributes of the most successful recruiters. The work you put in directly reflects on your rewards for it.
