Student Guidance, Wellbeing & Support Services Manager - FE

We are looking for a Team Leader to manage 10-15 student enrichment staff (Careers Advisers, Enrichment Officers, Wellbeing Officers) at a large, modern and thriving Further Education college in London. It will be a full-time, ongoing temporary contract, paying an hourly rate equivalent of 34000-43000 per year (likely £25+ per hour) and the opportunity is there for the right candidate to be made permanent at the above salary.
As a member of the Student Experience Management Team, your role will be to:
* Assist the Student Services Manager to plan and implement strategy that will increase recruitment, ensure retention and maximise achievement.
* Lead a cross-campus team of Student Support staff ensuring the delivery of high quality services to students
* Undertake responsibility for the delivery of high quality Information Advice and Guidance, Enrichment, College Events, Wellbeing and Safeguarding.
* Enhance the student experience ensuring implementation of support for applicants/students including initial advice and guidance, welfare support, progression and safeguarding.
* Ensure the College provides a safe and secure environment for all students.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Manage and lead a multi-disciplinary team based at 3 campuses that will improve college recruitment and enhance the student experience
To support the enrollment processes ensuring recruitment with integrity
To manage the College’s Information Advice and Guidance provision including progression, Higher Education application, careers and intensive welfare support
To work closely with the College’s marketing team ensuring high quality information supporting the guidance and enrolment process
To support Student Services Manager in managing the financial support systems for students
To keep the campus service under close review being accountable for and delivering high quality services
To develop positive relationships with key stakeholders including external partners, internal staff and students that support improvement
Ensure students identified as ‘at risk’ are provided with the support they need in order to succeed
Undertake observations of delivery staff working with direct reports to continuously improve
Manage change effectively to ensure staff remain best placed to support students
Act as a point of contact for complex safeguarding concerns fulfilling the role of a Designated Safeguarding Officer
Meet Key Performance Indicators agreed at Student Services Management Team or through appraisal process
Identify own developmental needs that will develop management capability and capacity supporting the improvement of outcomes for students
To act as a positive role model for staff championing customer service
Undertake training appropriate to the role of Student Services Team Leader
QUALIFICATIONS
A degree is preferable, and a qualification in Careers Information, Advice and Guidance is highly desirable – as is experience providing Careers Advice and knowledge of SAFEGUARDING.

Substantial experience in a customer/student facing environment providing high quality services (E)
Successful experience of rigorous performance management to improve service delivery (E)
Experience of working in a large and complex organisation (E)
Experience of managing a highly skilled and experienced team (E)
Experience of managing multiple priorities and dealing with setbacks (E)
