United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland: People Team volunteer

This volunteer role has been created to support WaterAid’s People Team (HR). The main purpose of this post is to support the recruitment, engagement and development of all WaterAider’s.

The People Team have a busy and varied workload, so this role will suit someone who has good administrative skills, is able to prioritise and juggle different activities. We need someone who has the ability to use their organisational skills and office experience to really get stuck in. Most of all we need someone who has a passion for people and in helping WaterAid have an even greater impact through its people.

We have ambitious plans to strengthen our leadership, attract and retain the right people with the right skills and enable our global organisation to have greater impact.

This role is ideal for someone wishing to pursue a career in People (human resource) Management and who has studied elements of people management or organisational effectiveness.

To review and map the current secondment process, making process steps and actions clear for the line Manager, the individual and the people team.

To support the research into local country needs of a Global HR Information system

To audit and build one source of generic role descriptions

To research external best practice in absence management and identify an approach for country programmes in line with current systems and local practice.

To research best practice in exit interviews and roll out a standard approach across country programmes.

To provide day to day support to the people team and community meetings.

To support the Global Security Manager in logistics required for security and business continuity training in the London office.

Support the Global Security Manager to investigate and improve the current risk assessment form used by all staff travelling on WaterAid business.
