First Call Contract Services is currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity for two creative and innovative Chef / NPD professionals to join our clients New Product Development team based at Acton, West London.

Our client produces high end executive meals & menus for First Class and Business Class travellers of leading World Airlines such as Virgin Airlines and British Airways.

This is an amazing chance to create fresh new product ranges that will part of our new menus for Airlines, Rail Travel, Retail and Canapes for major events, etc.

Gathering information from customers, account managers, seasonal trends and using your up to date knowledge of the industry, you will produce and trial creative new products that will be put through taste tests and evaluations.

Presenting your findings, recommendations and ideas to the New Product Development Manager and client partners will require you to have a professional communication style and the administrational capabilities to record your findings and create specifications for each of the products.

Key responsibilities:

• Organising internal team brainstorming meetings.


• Identifying new suppliers with innovative ingredients to deliver unique flavours and textural opportunities.


• Outwardly briefing suppliers and organising their presentations back to the development team.


• Preparation and presentation of blue sky development ideas


• Working within FSA (Food Standards Association) guidelines / regulations.


• An appreciation for nutritional values when creating new products

About You:

Skills / Experience / qualifications

• Min 3 year experience of delivering creative menus for restaurants / executive dining / foodservice


• Prior experience within a food manufacturing role (Desirable)


• Experience of creating & working to retail partners product specifications (Desirable)


• Qualified Chef ideally NVQ Level 4 or equivalent


• Advanced food hygiene (Desirable) Level 2 (Essential)


• IT Literate (Word / Excel / Outlook)


• Professional communication style


• Organised and capable of planning multiple activities
