The College of Human and Health Sciences is seeking to expand its research strength in Psychology through the appointment of a Professor who is required to provide academic leadership, by developing and mentoring academic colleagues so that they may drive forward the research agenda of the Department and the College; develop a sustained output of internationally recognised research publications; generate substantial research funding commensurate with the role; and make a significant contribution in the Research Excellence Framework (REF), building on the performance within the REF2104 Allied Health Professions submission, where 77% of the overall profile was rated as ‘world leading’ or ‘internationally excellent.’
Swansea University has made considerable strides in recent years and achieved its ambition to be a top 30 Research University within the UK, advancing from 52nd in 2008 to 26th in REF2014. The College of Human and Health Sciences draws together the disciplines of health, nursing, midwifery, social care, social policy and psychology. Its mission is to conduct high quality international research that meets the needs of the people of south-west Wales and beyond.
The successful candidate will provide academic and strategic leadership within the field of Psychology by developing and mentoring academic colleagues so that they may drive forward the research agenda of the Department and the College
