Head of Finance & Ops - Part-time - SWLondon - £38-42k pro-rata
An impressive small and growing health charity based in South-west London is seeking an experienced charity Head of Finance & Operations for a part-time role. The role will be for 3 days per week (0.6 FTE) and will involve leading the charity on all strategic finance matters, accompanied with broader operational and company secretarial duties. They are looking for a talented and driven charity finance professional with excellent people skills to join the organisation at an exciting time of growth.
The role will involve:
-Sharing responsibility with the Senior Management Team (SMT) for the delivery of the charity’s business plan and general management
-Overall responsibility for the finance function
-Production of the charity’s business plans and budgets/forecasts
-Overseeing the production of annual statutory accounts in line with charities SORP
-Supporting fundraisers with funding bids
-Compliance with HMRC and charity commission
-Overall responsibility for facilities, and legal aspects of HR management
-Overseeing smooth running of the office, including IT, phone and office systems
-Management of Health & Safety
-Company secretarial duties and attendance at Trustee meetings
Candidate requirements:
-Outstanding leadership and staff management skills
-Experience in managing charity finances including statutory accounts to SORP, production of management accounts, audit preparation and payroll
-Experience leading support functions (IT, Facilities, HR etc)
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including being comfortable with presentations and public speaking
-An empathy and understanding of physical disabilities
-Financial qualifications and experience of Sage Line 50 useful
The charity provides an array of outstanding services across the UK and they have been growing 10% year on year. An office move and creation of trading subsidiary are being considered in the near future, so this would be best suited to a candidate with an appetite for change, and somebody who can develop the charity’s presence externally.
