Crossing Keeper Grade: Signaller Grade 2 S alary: £26,091 Location: Charlton Lane Closing date: 9th June 2016 About the role (External) Youll be responsible for controlling the movement of crossing barriers that keep trains on the right track at the right time. Youll raise the barriers to let road users and pedestrians cross the tracks only when its safe for them to do so. Whats more, youll play a part in maintaining barriers, so they work in a consistent and reliable way. Safety is one of our very highest priorities. Taking a conscientious approach, youll always put safety first. Well look to you to respond proactively to any faults and safety risks – recording them clearly, and reporting them promptly. With our national scheme for safer crossings making an impact nationwide, there has never been a more important time to take on this key role. Trains run throughout the day, so well expect you to work a shift pattern that can include early starts, late finishes, some nights and weekends. Essential Criteria
