The role

Academic writing work consists of supplying customers with original, well-researched and referenced work in the form of essays, dissertations, model exam answers etc. These are to be used for research purposes only. The company retains all copyright and clients have to sign terms and conditions to this effect.

Academic editing work involves proofreading (see below) but also improving upon the content of the clients’ work through restructuring, adding or subtracting points and sources and improving the clients’ analysis.

When academic proofreading you will be ensuring that English has been used correctly throughout the documents as well as possibly correcting any referencing mistakes and perfecting the formatting, depending upon the option the client has chosen.

Salary

Our academic writing, editing and proofreading fees are dependent upon length of work, standard requested by the client and completion time. We pay some of the highest rates on the market.

Desired skills & experience

You must be knowledgeable in your subject area(s)*

1. Are you happy working from your own home on a self-employed basis or through your own limited company?

2. Do you speak English fluently?

3. Are you degree-educated with at least a Masters Merit, with the exception of Nursing and Medicine? Ideally you will hold a PhD.

4. Do you have any academic writing, editorial or proofreading experience? Experience is desirable but not essential.

5. Do you have access to academic sources, e.g. journal articles and textbooks? If not, we can advise you how to overcome this problem.
