Infrastructure Team Leader / Snr Network Engineer
Who my client is looking for
My client is looking for an Infrastructure Manager who will be responsible for the 24/7 operations of UK Data Center, production systems, data networks and equipment, production operations for our online and offline services and test/staging environments.
Reporting to the Vice President of Infrastructure, the Manager will be responsible for a team of IT professionals and assist him to ensure consistency of operations and availability of services.
Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Operations: Deploy and maintain reliable applications. Use appropriate tools and utilities to facilitate operations monitoring. Administer operations applications such as backups, system monitoring and logging. Identify and proactively ensure problems are resolve promptly and appropriately.
Network: Deploy and maintain site network infrastructure to ensure performance and reliability for local LANs, Internet/WAN connectivity.
Applications support: Work closely and effectively with Application Development team to provide support of cloud and on-site applications.
Information Security: Work closely and effectively with Information Security team to provide secure network access and vulnerability/patch management.
People: Responsible for the recruitment, evaluation and management of UK Infrastructure engineers that support the UK DC.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience. Engineering or related discipline highly recommended
• 8-10 years experience in IT Infrastructure administration and management.
• System administration experience: Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, FreeBSD.
• Experience with highly available environments, both locally and in the cloud.
• Experience with Virtualizations (XenServer or VMware).
• Experience with automation tools like Chef, Ansible or Puppet
• Experience with Perl, Ruby, Python or shell scripting.
• Excellent written, speaking and interpersonal skills.
• 3+ years managing IT Professionals.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Agile development experience – managing work using Scrum, Kanban or other frameworks.
• Bonus points for knowledge in PKI, cryptographic development or speaks Japanese
• ITIL, PMP Certification is an advantage
