Junior Payroll Administrator

Paying a salary of £19,000 – £21,000, we are looking for an efficient and hard working individual who is looking for the next step in their administration career and who will blend well with our award winning team!

As a Junior Payroll Administrator you will be responsible for supporting the other Administrators and the Candidate Services Manager with duties including new starter paperwork, on-boarding candidates, and weekly flex worker payroll. Customer Service is a high priority and an essential function of the Candidate Services team and every effort must be made to ensure that the Candidate experience is a professional, efficient and a pleasurable one.
Junior Payroll Administrator responsibilities
- Sending out Placement Packs to New Starters within 24 hours of placement being made; ensure follow-up call within 24 hours of sending out placement pack
- Ensure Candidate is set up correctly on Tempest, checking Candidate details and keeping Consultants informed of any issues
- Managing Scanned Document Maintenance on a regular basis – a holding area for incoming documents. All documents must be allocated to the candidates record before processing payroll
- Managing candidates and managers expectations with regards to payroll queries
- Speaking on the telephone with candidates to resolve any payroll or administrative issues
- Managing e-mailed requests/queries received into the Candidate Services Inbox from candidates/consultants and third parties
- Downloading and importing of on line timesheets from Vendor Clients.
- Sending out P45s for PAYE leavers
- Processing holiday pay requests
- Issue relevant tax forms
- Maintaining and updating the TEMPEST Pay and Bill system and logging candidate communications on front office system.
- Manage the creation of online portal logins for both Candidates and Clients and provide first line support for Candidates using the Greenroom on line timesheet system.
Skills & experience requirements
Ability to demonstrate:
- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
- Excellent Customer Service skills
- A keen eye for accuracy and detail
- Experience in an administrative or coordination role is desired but not essential
- Organised, logical and methodical approach. Capability to prioritise and multi-task

- Good verbal communication skills including a telephone manner that is articulate, engaging with ability to establish rapport
- Good timekeeping and ability to meet strict deadlines within a pressurised environment; ability to remain calm under pressure is essential
- Busy periods may require longer working hours
- Discretion – Administrators handle confidential and highly sensitive information
- Ability to use own initiative
- GCSE Maths and English (Minimum Grade C)
- Good computer skills in Outlook, Word and Excel with experience using spreadsheets and databases
