Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer
JOB PURPOSE
Working within the Maintenance Team and reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, the purpose of this role is to support Operations by providing the necessary engineering skills to safely maintain all site equipment, corrective and preventive, to company standards in order to achieve target OEE whilst deploying problem solving skills and Lean techniques.
Maintenance accountabilities
• To provide a maintenance service to the site with a mechanical bias with additional electrical multi-skills.
• Ensure that all facilities and equipment are used in accordance with current health and safety regulations, and that good housekeeping standards are maintained. In addition, work must conform to all quality, security, and EHS policies.
• To liaise with the Maintenance Team Leader and Production, agree work priorities and carry out breakdown, corrective and preventive maintenance as instructed.
• Carry out Plant Modification work and contribute towards the success of Capital Projects as required by the business.
• Maintain documentation in accordance with departmental, legal and business requirements.
• Ensure that all relevant administration such as; time sheets, work orders (WMO), stores purchase requisitions, etc. are completed correctly on time.
• Carry out statutory and other tests on site and in the site boiler house; maintain the boilers and water treatment plant equipment as necessary.
• Take ownership of your own training and development plans to ensure continued development of your own skills and expertise, undertaking additional training skills to keep abreast of technology changes, and the changing needs of the business.
• When there is a requirement, vary normal working patterns in order to complete required work, cover colleagues absence or attending training courses.
Lean
• Contribute towards the development of PPM plans for site equipment.
• Support LEAN implementation in the department to deliver metal and cost improvements in accordance with Manufacturing Excellence requirements.
• Support the shift to improve the use of a LEAN toolbox, starting with 5S and tools such as Root Cause Problem Solving and Standard Work.
WORKING HOURS
The employee will be required to work a 24/7 continental style 12 hour shift pattern which includes weekends. (4s and 5s)
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
• Experience in chemical maintenance, or similar process industry.
• Hold a recognized mechanical qualification C&G / B tech / ONC / HNC.
• Engineering apprenticeship.
• Exposure to a LEAN approach to manufacturing.
• Experience of working with performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
• Experience in a computerized maintenance management system is desirable.
Salary
£42,159 including shift allowance plus excellent benefits
