The role of a graduate recruitment consultant


Recruitment consultancy is a direct sales role. A recruiter has to be able to sell candidates to clients and vice versa. On the candidate side you will be advertising jobs, screening CVs, interviewing candidates and prepping them for interviews. On the client side you will be expected to win your own clients which will involve lots of cold calling, liaising with existing clients, setting up interviews and negotiating contracts. This is a position that will involve lots of networking and requires a proactive mindset.

We are currently offering a position with a company are based next to Old Street Station in Central London and specialise in IT recruitment. Having just moved to new offices they have extremely ambitious growth plans looking to grow to 300 from 150 in the next couple of years.


They work with high profile clients including being the EXCLUSIVE supplier to Apple in the UK, they also work with: HSBC, Shell, Sainsbury’s, BT and Lloyds and won several awards for their performance.


They also run one of the most generous commission schemes within the recruitment industry, there are people who have been with the company for less than 5 years who bill over £1 million a year and take home over £300,000 as individuals.


Who is suitable for recruitment consultancy?
