Finance Support Services Director




Anthony Cole Associates are proud to be partnering a leading global Facilities Management business based in London. In a newly created position due to upcoming business growth, they seek a Director of Support Services.


Within the client services portfolio the business has developed a significant outsourcing function working across the public and private sector businesses in the UK. This service is undergoing significant growth and concept development as opportunities broaden within the wider international business community and market position is established.


Development and control of the business unit support functions including finance, business systems and supply chain. Ensuring compliance with corporate governance requirements as a minimum, the postholder must also apply their experience to support the development of the outsourcing excellence model and the realisation of opportunities to expand this service internationally realising greater opportunities for the business success.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Finance lead on UK business function managing the finance team allocated

  • Delivery of the financial aspect of the business review

  • Oversight of the payment plan including reviews of reconciliation processes

  • Preparation and issuing of monthly financial reporting for the public and private sectors

  • Management of the budget ensuring spend controls are maintained

  • Engagement with key internal stakeholders around budgets and recharges

  • Development of financial systems and processes to maximise efficiency and transparency producing replicable functionality for adoption within other operating countries

  • Working with the business systems team to facilitate:

o Establishment of systems within the FMS & Insight platforms


o Development and roll out of commercial benchmarking


o Development of business systems reporting to facilitate best in class commercial and operational management of waste services within the public and private sector


o Universal adoption of the systems in the management of waste activities within the business


  • Supporting the engagement with the broader business systems communities in the effective rollout of systems across the business internationally

  • Financial oversight and control of business system budgets relating to specific developments or expansion activities

  • Management and support of the services supply chain function in targeting the following key objectives:

o Minimisation of risk by ensuring a robust waste supplier approval process is maintained and complied with throughout the business


o Ensuring all contractors are governed by contractual agreements


o Competitive market value is maintained on behalf of the business


o Processes and procedures relating to supply chain management are relevant, robust and facilitate capability whilst minimising risk


o Ensuring that all processes and procedures developed are relevant to the values and requirements of the business and are replicable in other countries of operation


o Development and maintenance of collaborative relationships with marketing leading waste service supply chain partners at a senior level


  • To ensure compliance with statutory and corporate requirements.

  • To lead or participate in such cross business projects and assignments as may be required.

  • To ensure the ongoing development of employees within their area of responsibility, to establish succession plans for all key positions.

  • Deputising for the UK Director when required

To be considered for this role you will:-


  • Ideally be a qualified accountant (CA, CIMA, ACCA), or qualified by experience

  • Have commercial experience within the FM, Service or outsourcing environment, and SUPPLY CHAIN knowledge

  • Professional, committed and with capability to resolve issues and develop solutions

  • The ability to communicate and work effectively with colleagues, clients and supply chain partners building effective and collaborative relationships

  • Experience of working with an extended supply chain developing and delivering large supply chain relationships into complex operational environments

  • Familiarisation with working across multiple international cultures developing and delivering strong commercial solutions

  • Leadership skills with the ability to prioritise extensive workloads within multiple environments and ensure that communication is maintained and deadlines met

  • Experience of working with multiple IT platforms relating to activities such as procurement, CAFM, customer reporting and finance
