United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland: Humanitarian Capacity Building Administrator

As our Humanitarian Capacity Building Administrator you will support the humanitarian and emergency response work of Save the Children and the wider sector through supporting the delivery of innovative and high quality learning and development programmes.


Working in more than 120 countries, we do whatever it takes to create breakthroughs in the way the world treats children. Our Humanitarian department integrates emergency and development work, through our country programmes. It increases our capacity to meet the assistance and protection needs of children and their families affected by crises. Together, we save children’s lives, fight for their rights and help them fulfil their potential.


The Humanitarian Operations Programme (HOP) is a practitioner led learning and mentoring programme which involves face to face classroom learning, simulation training, distance learning and personal reflection. The programme has been developed and refined since its inception 9 years ago, and has recently been accredited at Masters level by Oxford Brookes University in the UK.


As Administrator you will ensure that these capacity building programmes run efficiently and effectively. You will carry out administrative tasks to support the delivery of the Humanitarian Operations Programme including residential and distance learning elements.


Fluent in French and English, you will have previous administration and event planning experience in complex cross-team projects. You will also:


  • Have excellent interpersonal skills

  • Be proactive and well organised with the ability to manage your time effectively

  • Have the ability to work under pressure when faced with tight deadlines

  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Be computer literate and confident using Microsoft Word Outlook and Excel.

Ideally, you will have good knowledge and/or a qualification in the field of international development or humanitarian response.
