Do you enjoy working in complex MySQL environments? My client needs to scale to millions of concurrent connections and is seeking a MySQL DBA who has experience in working at scale – is this you?

We’re looking for a talented MySQL DBA to join this friendly, small startup team to help build and grow a great, high-value mobile & web-based product.

This role would be ideal if you are someone who would love to focus your energy on creating a high-quality business solution and is interested in working in a startup with great financial backing.

As part of their team, you’ll be making a big difference to how businesses capture customer data across the globe. Their software works on tablets, mobile and the web – online and offline. They’re stripping away the old, inefficient and non-accountable paper-based processes, replacing them with reliable, enjoyable, measurable and modern data capture tools. The result is impressive user experiences and measurably better marketing.

Their culture is really important in how they work and whom they choose to hire.

They are currently using MySQL, Amazon AWS, and any experience within Redis would be a real bonus.

• Experience with working in complex MySQL environements


• AWS experience


• Experience within Redis is a bonus

• A zest for learning and self-improvement – you are not afraid to learn new technologies outside your existing skill set as required.

Salary & package

• Salary depending on your skills and experience (30,000-50,000 GBP)


• Your own slice of company ownership (via their early stage stock options scheme)


• Office based in London but my client is open to candidates being based remotely but you must be located within the EU and be a self starter.

Things to know

• This job can either be based in their London office in the City, or you can work remotely but you must be based in the EU (Excellent spoken and written English required).


• They can’t sponsor foreign working visas unfortunately, so you must be eligible to work within the EU

If you’re successful in your application, they’ll ask you to undertake a highly-relevant code task. If you can demonstrate a suitable solution, they’ll invite you to meet up with them to step through your ideas before they make a final decision.
