United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland: Videographer (Volunteer)

Job Brief

We are looking for a successful and enthusiastic videographer to produce and direct various projects, promotional or documentary material for educational video programs. You will determine the creative needs of the project, then videotape and edit the project material. You will also be involved in project development and direction from project conception through project presentation.

Responsibilities

▪ Research and develop story/program concepts for various areas such as public interest and educational use; determine angle of story or program to cover

▪ Assist with planning of storyline and writing of script

▪ Schedule production, camera and editing time; preplan taping to ensure the necessary equipment and visuals are available

▪ Exercise independent judgment in the assembling and editing of videotaped material to ensure visual cohesiveness by assessing narrative and visual context

▪ Edit and assemble final audio/video program material; ensure consistency and relevancy to production; monitor technical quality of end product; determine adequate staffing needed for production; coordinate work activities of production crew during taping

▪ Prepare and monitor production budget and assist with post-production accounting functions

▪ Maintain accurate records, logs and transcribes production activities

▪ Serve as creative liaison to technical production staff

Requirements

▪ Knowledge of broadcasting production techniques

▪ Skill in visualizing and shooting concepts effectively

▪ Skill in production and editing

▪ Ability to effectively communicate

▪ Bachelor’s degree in Radio/Television, Film, Fine Arts or related field and three (3) years experience operating video cameras and editing equipment

▪ OR, five (5) years experience operating video cameras and editing equipment

▪ OR, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved

▪ Impressive portfolio of previous projects

▪ Excellent time management and communication skills
