Autism Teaching Assistant
A high achieving, creative primary school in London Bridge is recruiting for a special needs teaching assistant for the academic year 2015/16.
The role is to support a reception aged pupil who has been diagnosed with Autism and requires support in class. The head teacher is keen to appoint a TA who has experience supporting children who have Autism and is particularly interested in candidates who have previous experience within an early years environment. Any experience using PECS, Makaton, Visual timetables or Now and Next boards would be desirable.
The head teacher is looking for candidates with the following skills and attributes:
*Experience supporting children who have Autism
*Psychology, English, Drama degree is preferable
*Excellent communication skills and clarity of expression
*Organised, honest, approachable
The school are offering the successful TA a year long contract, with the opportunity to go perm at the end of the school year.

*You must have the legal right to work in the UK
*You must hold QTS or a UK recognised equivalent teaching qualification
*This position is subject to an Enhanced CRB Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances
(if applicable) and professional reference checks
*Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any
employment breaks must be explained
