United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland: Media and PR Consultant (Temporary)

International Alert has a unique opportunity for a passionate, creative and strategic-thinking PR/Media Consultant to help raise the profile of its 30th anniversary and its annual Talking Peace Festival (21 September – 5 October).

The festival is a series of cultural events which takes place in London and globally every year, and is designed to draw attention to issues of conflict and peace around the world.

You will be part of our the Communications Team and will be responsible for identifying and securing UK and international media opportunities, carry out day-to-day press work, and help ensure a strong turnout at the festival events while helping draw attention to Alert’s peacebuilding work over all.

With excellent writing and communications skills, you will be able to spot a compelling story and package it in such a way that journalists and editors pick it up and distribute it to wider audiences. You will also be experienced in developing and implementing PR and media strategies with clear targets.

How to apply:

The above are some of the requirements for the job. For the full job requirements and an application pack (the person specification section of which will form the basis of short-listing), please visit http://www.international-alert.org/jobs**. In your application, please indicate the full job title of the role you are applying for.**

To apply, please send a CV and brief covering letter, outlining your skills, experience, availability from July 2016 and salary expectations to communications@international-alert.org

As it is not likely that we will be able to obtain a Work Permit for this role, all job applicants must already have the right to work in the UK.

Closing date: Sunday 19 June 5pm (UK time)

Please note that due to the urgency of this post, we will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis. For your application to be considered, please apply as soon as possible.

While International Alert will endeavour to contact all candidates within a reasonable time, this may not always be possible due to limited resources. Therefore, if you have not heard from us within two weeks of the closing date, you can assume that your application has, on this occasion, been unsuccessful. International Alert is an equal opportunities employer. All applicants will be judged strictly on the basis of merit.
