THE ROLE
We are looking for a Senior Kit Room technician who will run the day-to-day activity of the kit room, with the Hire Manager. You would be responsible for accurately preparing kit orders to meet clients’ requirements – carrying out the testing and preparation of equipment, as well as checking-in on return. Ensuring that all systems are maintained and all information is recorded. Carrying out basic repairs, and organising the repair of damaged equipment. Updating firmware and reporting the need to upgrade any existing equipment. Making recommendations regarding new products to purchase to the Hire Manager. Offering phone support to clients out on location. When needed you would also help out setting up training courses, and anything else in the running of a small company including administrative work. Candidates must be prepared to work the occasional weekend and shift work.

The candidate must have worked at least 1 year in broadcast rental or 2 years in a technical role in film or tv production, is now looking to settle in to a full time permanent role, with all its benefits. They would have an excellent knowledge of existing equipment and well as a passion and strong interest in new production technologies, as well as an eye for detail. There is an opportunity for the right person to be able to develop the Engineering department, and well as shaping the future kit that the Kit Room offers. As a small company we need a team player, who wants to support their colleagues and shows initiative.
