Lecturer in Counselling and Psychotherapy (Teaching, Scholarly and Research)

Grade: Grade 7 to Grade 8
Salary: £31,656 to £46,414 p.a. or pro rata; depending on qualifications and experience


100% of full time basis (part-time can be considered)


A Lecturer in Counselling and Psychotherapy is required by the School of Healthcare to contribute towards the MA in Psychotherapy and Counselling and to teach across the School of Healthcare professions e.g. nursing, midwifery and social work.

You will draw on your practice and academic experience to deliver teaching and scholarship and to contribute towards the School’s research agenda. Administration duties will also be expected.


Applicants will have a PhD or be close to completing a PhD/ Professional Doctorate in an appropriate discipline (or hold equivalent experience) and will hold current registration with BACP, UKCP, BPS (or an equivalent professional body) in the psychological therapies field. You will also hold a recognised teaching qualification, or be willing to undertake one. You will be able to work well as part of a team and be able to work independently.
