Architectural Technician - London
Our client is a specialist property and infrastructure business who strives to create and deliver valuable solutions for their clients. They serve a wide range of clients across central and local governments, as well as property developers, building contractors, and a range of other commercial organisations. They are now searching for an Architectural Technician to join them on a permanent basis at their London practice. As the selected Architectural Technician, you will work closely with an enthusiastic and friendly architectural and planning consultancy team. This role will see you working on a variety of regeneration-based projects, from home extensions to new residential and commercial designs. This is a great opportunity for you to apply your understanding of the development process, from conception through to completion as an ambitious and driven Technician. Key responsibilities: Compile technical information necessary for project planning, including client requirements, site surveys and building regulations Prepare plans using relevant design software (CAD, ACAD Architecture) as well as traditional drawing methods Administer contracts and negotiate fees with project stakeholders Prepare applications for approval by regulatory bodies Develop specifications for construction work Assist project team on technical matters where necessary Essential requirements: Previous experience working on regeneration projects Good understanding of Local Authority Policies and Permitted Development Rights Good working knowledge of Building Regulations Strong design and drafting skills (CAD, BIM, ACAD Architecture/Revit etc.) Ability to carry out architectural surveys Competent IT skills using Microsoft Excellent communication skills to build relationships with clients and support team members Commercially astute disposition The ideal Architectural Technician will also contribute innovative ideas and have a flexible work attitude to support other planning and design services.
