United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland: Technical Manager, WSUP Advisory
WSUP Advisory is seeking a highly motivated WASH professional committed to improving WASH services to low income consumers in cities of the developing world through the provision of commercially viable and sustainable consulting services.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in the development of a rapidly growing organisation that needs creative thinking and tenacity from its entire staff to achieve its business objectives and to maximize its contribution to the implementation of WSUP’s 2016-2020 Business Plan.
The role includes both technical and commercial tasks. The successful applicant will work independently and in collaboration with colleagues in WSUP Advisory and the broader WSUP organisation to:
Win new projects by promoting WSUP Advisory’s experience and skills through networking, presentations, proposals, tenders and direct negotiations with potential clients.
Deliver high quality consultancies on time and within budget to clients in the field of urban WASH, using the collective knowledge, experience, skills and networks of WSUP as well as those that he/she will bring to the position.
Lead WSUP Advisory’s efforts to enhance its service offer and project delivery by drawing on the learnings of WSUP’s core country programmes, while creating value for the broader WSUP organization by feeding back experience from WSUP Advisory’s own projects.
WSUP Advisory is the consultancy arm and a wholly owned subsidiary of Water and Sanitation for the Urban Poor (WSUP), a non-profit partnership between the private sector, NGOs and research institutions focused on solving the global problem of inadequate water and sanitation in low-income urban communities. It was incorporated in February 2015 as a Community Interest Company (CIC) based in the UK for the primary purpose of disseminating the experience gained and lessons learned from implementation of WSUP’s programmes in eight countries since 2006. Revenue generated by WSUP Advisory is reinvested in amplifying the impact of WSUP’s work worldwide. WSUP Advisory has recently established a subsidiary in India.
The expertise provided by WSUP Advisory reflects the recognition that improving services to low income communities requires different approaches to those which traditionally have been weighted towards large scale, infrastructure investments. WSUP Advisory focuses instead on policies, strategies and the capacity of service providers to deliver WASH services to urban low income consumers. It aims to empower local service providers to deliver technically and financially sustainable, market-based water and sanitation services and promote good hygiene to bring lasting improvements to the lives of the urban poor.
Please note that we do not accept C.Vs, only application forms found on our vacancies page.
