The Organisation


Plan International is changing. The Role


Plan International is currently implementing a new Programme Quality Policy that ensures programme quality is at the heart of everything we do. It is supported by a new set of Programme Quality Procedures, which outline how Plan approach’s all of our work at the field level, both strategically and operationally.


This position will lead on providing global leadership for the new procedures for annual planning and reporting for all of Plan International’s country and regional offices. These require all countries and regions to develop annual plans which are reviewed and reported against on a quarterly and annual basis. The position will also support the process of using this information for strengthening performance management and global reporting.


This is an influential role within the dynamic new Programme Quality Management Team in Plan’s International Headquarters. The team provides global leadership on how Plan International manages and reports on all of its programme work across all Plan International countries, in order to maximise programme quality. The Programme Quality Management Team forms a key part of the Programme Delivery and Resources Department, within the International Programmes Department.


There will be international travel with the role, approximately10% of the time.


Do you have what it takes?


To be successful in this role, you will need field experience of working as a Country Director, Operations Manager or equivalent role for a NGO; experience of working on organisational performance management & global reporting related initiatives; experience of developing and implementing global procedures and guidance for NGOs; and experience of changing ways of working and capacity building through direct and remote support. An established network of contacts within the sector is desirable, but not essential.


In addition you will be a results driven, proactive individual with excellent communication skills and strong negotiation skills. You must have fluent English language skills, with the ability to operate in another language such as French, Spanish or Portuguese desirable.
