Applications are invited for the post of Research Associate in the Department of Experimental Psychology UCL to work with Dr Hugo Spiers in collaboration with Prof Peter Dayan (UCL), Prof William Penny (UCL), Prof Emrah Duzel (DZNE) and Dr Amir-Homayoun Javadi (University of Kent). This post is part of a project investigating the neural basis of spatial navigation using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). He/she will be expected to design, conduct and analyse data from fMRI experiments, contribute to the writing of manuscripts and presention of the data at international conferences. The main focus will be fMRI research, but scope for analysis of magnetoencephalography (MEG) and electroencephalography (EEG) data may also be possible, depending on the project and the applicant’s experience.
The post is funded for 2 years in the first instance.
Applicants must hold a PhD, or have submitted their thesis, in neuroscience / psychology and have experience of analyzing fMRI data. The ability to work as part of a research team is essential. Experience with MEG and or EEG data analysis is desirable. An interest in the neural basis of memory and/or spatial cognition is also desirable as is experience of virtual reality programming
