Salary: Grade 9 £47,801 – £55,389 (Associate Professor) Grade 8 £36,672 – £46,414 (Senior Lecturer)

We are currently seeking to appoint an Associate Professor / Senior Lecturer in Speech Sciences/Speech and Language Therapy. Please note that this is one post and candidates should clearly state on their application form whether they wish to apply at Associate Professor or Senior Lecturer level.

Associate Professor

This post is designed to develop and lead provision in an area of speech sciences and/or speech and language therapy that extends the Faculty’s current reach and impact, particularly in relation to taught postgraduate programmes and research.

The University has a well-established reputation for its taught programmes in speech sciences and speech and language therapy. It has the only NHS-commissioned programme for Speech and Language Therapy in the south west of England and the programme ranks consistently highly in the NSS and for employability with scores of between 95-100 per cent for both. This post has been established initially to extend the reach and impact of the wider speech sciences and speech and language therapy area by developing new areas of postgraduate and research provision and by helping to commercialise many of the innovative applications that staff and students devise to assist and augment communication. The post-holder will be expected to inform these and subsequent developments with an established research record, an enterprising approach and their national and international networks.

The post offers an excellent opportunity for an aspiring leader to develop an area of work at the heart of the University’s portfolio.

Many of the tasks to be undertaken by the post holder will be taken forward in collaboration with other colleagues and collaborative research partners.
