Staffordshire University is investing £5 million at our Stafford and Shrewsbury sites – creating Centres of Excellence for Health Care Education. At this exciting time anopportunity has arisen for a Mental Health Nurse to join our Stafford based team for a fixed term of 18 months, as a full-time (1.0 fte) Lecturer. You will join a team that embraces innovation and aspires to be forward thinking in our approach to the education of future health care professionals.
The main focus of this job will be supporting the development, delivery and evaluation of our Foundation Degree/Higher Apprentice in Mental Health and pre-registration nursing and awards. You will also have an opportunity to teach across a range of modules and contribute to our research agenda. We are committed to supporting research active staff: if you are an established researcher, or if you are an early career researcher, and this is your first academic post, we will support you to continue to grow your research portfolio through our Faculty of Health Sciences REF2020 Scheme.
As an essential criterion for the post you must have post-registration experience as a Registered Mental Health Nurse and active registration with the NMC. You should possess a degree in Mental Health Nursing or a closely related subject and have a recognised teaching /assessing qualification with experience of relevant teaching ideally within further or higher education settings. An NMC stage 4 teaching qualification or Master’s degree is desirable.
