Maintenance Assistant - City of London Police - London
Play your part in maintaining the police stations and other police properties within the Square Mile.
You will have a valuable role in supporting the effective running of our buildings – ensuring they are clean, safe and properly managed environments. The Police estate is very different to that of the majority of organisations in the City, which makes this a particularly interesting maintenance role. Indirectly, you will also be helping to serve and protect the residents, workers, visitors, tourists and businesses in the Square Mile. Your duties will include planning and organising maintenance works across all our buildings, prioritising jobs and delegating to outside contractors when necessary. You will carry out certain repairs yourself, including work on premises, equipment, fittings and furniture, plumbing, painting and decorating and general maintenance.
It is essential that you have experience of carrying out repairs in large premises together with an understanding of the preventative maintenance likely to be necessary for the proper functioning of police buildings. A good communicator, you will also need good IT skill and demonstrate the ability to undertake simple calculations.
