Commercial Analyst - Friars Bridge Court, London - South West Trains - Court

Identify and develop revenue generative opportunities and implement initiatives to increase SWT revenue.

Principal Accountabilites


Identify revenue opportunities through analysing the timetable, crowding, revenue and fares allocation (including advanced fares quotas) and share with the Commercial Timetable and Pricing Managers.


Make initiative recommendations that will achieve the greatest profitability and customer service whilst meeting the requirements of DfT and the rules and restrictions of the Office of Rail Regulation.


Using broader knowledge of the network, identify opportunities for the Marketing and for the Commissions Manager to engage with 3

party organisations to form add-ons or joint ticket offer.


Identify any specific SWT fares anomalies and propose solutions to rectify with the pricing manager.


Identify Car Park revenue opportunities from analysing the patronage and propose pricing levels accordingly that are in line with DfT compliance


Advanced fares – take the lead on implementing and administering new system trials such as new advanced fares systems.


Monitor SWT competitors such as First Great Western, Southern and Cross Country as to their flows which compete with our services to protect our competitive position and report on changes after each fares change. Recommend changes or actions to the pricing manager, both reactive and proactive


Produce periodic summary reports of progress on changes/trends in loading/revenue in response to implemented initiatives


Support the Commercial Timetable Manager to analyse significant proposed or suggested timetable schemes, rolling stock changes or new station proposals for workability and effect on the customer, and also on capacity, costs and revenue.


Shift Pattern


Average of 37 hours p/wk office hours.


Minimum Requirements


Experience and a working knowledge of MOIRA, Lennon, VoyagerPlan, RIMS, and fares data systems.


Analytical and good at recognising trends and identifying solutions.


Proficient in relevant railway timetable, diagramming and forecasting computer software as current and in the use of general spreadsheets and databases.


Ability to comprehend the Company’s wider business strategies.


Methodical, reliable and accurate working skills, with a good command of English.


Excellent communicator and team player.


Educated to degree level or other suitable qualification in numeric or business discipline.


Applicants requiring a visa, must have at least 6 months remaining at the start of employment.
