Lecturer in Counselling

The Department of Psychology, Sociology and Social Work seeks to appoint a Lecturer to contribute to our growing counselling programme. As the post holder, you will be an experienced and qualified counsellor and teacher, well versed in practice using an integrative model. You will be committed to delivering an excellent programme to students and to promoting the profession of counselling.

The post is based in Ipswich and the successful applicant will join a small, friendly and experienced team. The Department of Psychology, Sociology and Social Work sits within the Faculty of Arts, Business and Social Science at University Campus Suffolk. We offer a well-established portfolio of courses including counselling, psychology, sociology, youth studies, criminology and social work to 500 students. There is a good demand for our courses and the Department’s long term strategy is to build on our strengths and continue to develop a high quality, relevant and creative programme.  Our (integrative) foundation degree in Counselling was introduced in 2013 and this was followed shortly by our BA (Hons) progression year. We have ambitious plans to expand the programme, including post graduate and CPD provision. The successful applicant will play a key role in this exciting journey.
