Salary: £34,579 to £46,414 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.
Applications are invited for the above post based at the University’s Jubilee Campus. The successful candidate will join a well-established teaching and research team within the Centre for Research in Human Flourishing in the School of Education. The team offers undergraduate and postgraduate awards: BA Humanistic Counselling Practice; MA Person-Centred Experiential Counselling and Psychotherapy and MA Trauma Studies. The School is a BACP Approved Provider of Counselling for Depression training and members of the team also contribute expertise to other programmes in the School’s portfolio. The role holder’s work will be primarily to make a significant contribution to the further development, enrichment and teaching of the BA Humanistic Counselling Practice. They will actively seek external research funding and publish in relevant areas. There will also be opportunities to contribute to other areas of the team’s portfolio of taught courses and in the school, including research student supervision.
Candidates should hold a Masters/PG Dip in Counselling aligned to School’s approach, a PhD/Professional Doctorate in a relevant area (or be close to completion) and have relevant professional registration e.g. BACP, UKCP. They should also have an established track record of high quality teaching in the field of counselling in higher education.
