New Data Assistant Role in BBC Worldwide – Television Centre
This exciting position is to provide quantitative and administrative support to the BBC Worldwide Content team on BBC Worldwide’s portfolio of channels operating globally.
Role Responsibility Reporting to the Head of Inventory Management and working closely with the Acquisitions team, the Data Assistant is responsible for:
- Maintenance of departmental content databases.
- Extracting, collating and presenting complex quantitative analysis to management.
- Liaison with internal departments and external distributors.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of channel distribution, programme licence agreements and channel information in Excel and acquisition databases.
- Maintain standard reporting tools for management using Excel where required. Collate programme information and availability as required to support the ongoing supply of BBC programming to new and existing BBC channels.
- Act as contact point for internal BBC Worldwide finance department and other departments as relevant.
- Input and extract contract and rights information into Zeus inventory and scheduling system. Manage administration of acquisition contracts into the BBC Worldwide finance system (SAP) including raising Purchase Orders and Invoice tracking.
The Ideal Candidate
- Excellent working knowledge of Excel (some knowledge of Macros and/or Visual Basic is highly desirable)
- Experience with using financial databases (preferably SAP)
- Good mathematical / analytical skills
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work on own and as part of a team
- Demonstrable interest in the television channels industry and television programmes
- Detail orientated with an understanding of downstream impacts of the role and responsibilities
