Regulation Executive

Background

The Data Communications Company (“DCC” – Smart DCC Ltd) is a government licensed entity within Capita which is responsible for delivering the central infrastructure delivering energy smart metering in Great Britain.

DCC will deliver services in accordance with the Smart Energy Code (SEC), an industry code to which all energy suppliers and network operators must accede.

We are looking for a Regulation Executive to join the regulation team as DCC completes the implementation of its core systems and engages with government, the regulator and industry on emerging requirements.

The Role

The Regulation Executive will:

• work in the team which has responsibility for DCC’s compliance and relationship management with Ofgem, our regulator


• work with the Regulation Managers, shadowing them and assisting in the production of documentation within the DCC


• coordinate DCC’s engagement with the SEC Modification Process


• coordinate compliance reviews and issue tracking


• act as secretariat for internal governance groups


• manage the consultation response process for consultations that require a response from DCC, including drafting (ad hoc)


• support the management of DCC’s consultations (ad hoc)


• assist in responding to formal and informal regulatory information requests (ad hoc)


• work with teams across DCC in resolving regulatory queries and issues (ad hoc).

The ideal candidate will have a combination of the following:

Essential

• A degree in economics/finance, law, politics, English, engineering or similar


• Self-starter, able to identify appropriate solutions, meet tight-deadlines and work in a high-pressure environment


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor complex messages for different audiences


• High degree of personal integrity


• Articulate and confident communicator

Desired

• Some experience of working in a regulated environment (preferably energy)


• Experience of working within a programme environment.

The role is London based.
