United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland: Programmes Director - BRAC UK - London
BRAC is seeking a Programmes Director to lead the UK-based programmes team to increase the scale and impact of BRAC UK’s programmes in Africa and Asia. You will lead new business efforts in collaboration with other members of the BRAC international family of organisations and will ensure high quality delivery of BRAC UK’s programmes on all aspects of business development, donor and partner engagement, grant management, quality control, monitoring, evaluation and accountability.
BRAC is a Bangladesh-led international development organisation dedicated to eradicating poverty by creating conditions for people, especially women and girls, to take control of their lives, achieve their potential and generate long-lasting change.
Salary: £50,000 pa
You have:
- A strong track record of results in business development – you have taken a leading role in securing multi-million pound contracts
- Significant field leadership experience in a developing country
- At least eight years of practical experience in developing businesses and projects in low-income countries and skills in supporting the development of social enterprises.
- Strong sectoral knowledge, expertise, and exposure in at least one of the key sectors relevant to BRAC (WASH, Health, Education, Agriculture, Microfinance, Social Enterprise, Market based approaches)
- Fluency in English. Knowledge of a second language will be considered a plus: Bengali, French, German, Spanish are priority second languages.
Qualifications/ Education
- An MBA could be useful, although this is not a requirement. Given the nature of this role, experience in a similar environment is more important.
